Stacked Jobs

Stacked jobs are multiple jobs grouped together and assigned to the same driver. This allows a driver to complete more than one pickup or delivery within a single trip, instead of handling each job separately.

Why stacked jobs are beneficial

Stacked jobs help fleets:

  • Reduce travel time and operational costs

  • Increase driver efficiency and job throughput

  • Handle busy periods more effectively

How a Job Is Added to a Stack

When a new job is created, the system first checks whether a driver already has a job from the same outlet. Drivers are then evaluated in the following order:

  1. Contract drivers with stacking enabled

  2. Freelance drivers with stacking enabled

  3. Contract drivers

  4. Freelance drivers

Before a job is added to a stack, the system runs several checks to ensure stacking is efficient and does not impact delivery quality. Only drivers and jobs that meet these conditions are considered.

Key stacking rules

  • Jobs can only be stacked on drivers who allow stacked jobs and are within the set radius of the outlet.

    • The driver’s existing jobs are in a valid state (Assigned or Travelling to Pickup)

  • All jobs in a stack must come from the same outlet.

  • Pickup times must be compatible, meaning additional jobs must fall within the stacking window of the first job.

  • The system must be able to complete all jobs within an acceptable delivery window.

  • Each driver has a maximum stack limit (for example, up to 3 jobs per stack).

  • Stacking can apply to both Contract and Freelance drivers, if stacking is enabled for that driver type.

If all checks are met, the job is added to the driver’s stack.

This logic ensures stacked jobs are assigned efficiently, prioritise reliability, and remain achievable for drivers.

How to Assign Stacked Jobs to a Driver

➡️

How to enable the Stacked Jobs: Waybox Management → Drivers → Select the driver

Fleets can choose if a driver can be assigned jobs which are stacked. This can be done by enabling ‘Suitable for Stacked Jobs’ on the Driver Details.
